Poetry! (An ode by Emily Eisenstein) Empty Poetry! (An ode by Emily Eisenstein)

Post  Admin (Emily) Fri May 28, 2010 10:17 pm

I wrote an ode for writing class, and I want to share it with y'all.

I have a new best friend,
We met each other yesterday.
He’s just about the greatest guy
To ever come my way.

He doesn’t shout or yell at me,
He doesn’t get upset.
He never beats me at a game,
He lets me win, I bet.

He listens to my troubles,
And he understands my pains.
I talk, talk, talk all day to him,
And he never complains.

He’s always there to play with,
And he never runs away,
He stays right by my side,
And I know everything’s okay.

My other friends are jealous,
They all say it makes them sick,
For they don’t know
How great life is,
When your best friend’s a brick.

LOVE THIS POEM. it has exceeded all levels of awesomeness.

very shell silverstien esque. did i mention that i love it??

chickens do not have eyebrows. and they dont have weenus' either. or would it be weeni??

other poetry:

Ugh

Ugh is such a funny word
The way it is so frequently used
It can be used to describe a turd
Or a bird
Or a cheese curd
Or a mountainous mountain thats home to a herd
Of billy goats that are all named Parkurd
Yet Ugh can describe frustration or pain
Used most commonly by someone that is vain
And that has no appreciation for the blueberry stain
Upon the window pane.
And Ugh can be used in the silliest of ways
To rhyme again with things like....
Well anyway, we must conclude
That ugh is a word very hard to delude
So next time you use this word called Ugh
Remember that someone is listening
And a pig is eating from its trough.

I just wrote that. Just now. crazy stuff right??

I must say, and I am completely honest, but I thought you had gotten that out of a book!
I am thoroughly impressed.
You have lovely rhyming skills.

I KNOW, right?
I mean, what isn't adorable about a dog figurine completely constructed from Deli meat and cheese?!
I LOVE it!
