The Once and Future King
What are your opinions on this book? So far, I'm on page 20, and I'm bored as heck.
Also, anyone who isn't reading it, what is your summer reading book and how is it?

Cottage Wow, Emily is so cool!: Small Curds
I'm on about page 40, and it isn't much better than page 20, let me tell you.
The plot picks up, however, and it becomes a bit more entertaining.
I'm just unsure how I'm gonna read 200+ pages of this thing.

Same. I'm already sick of the writing style. Plus, I wish Wart would just stop taking Kay's crap. That boy is irritating. (Kay, that is. I imagine him looking like Harry Potter's fat brother.)
Cat Face
Yeah, I know! Kay is giving me a dang migrane!
And Dudley isn't Harry's bro, he's his cousin.
I imagine Kay as tall and heavyset with shaggy, ruffled orange hair that's in his eyes, freckles on his cheeks and lopsided teeth.
I see Wart as a boy very small for his age with short dirty blond hair, wearing a long-sleeve tunic that goes down to mid-thighs and is tied with a piece of rope or fabric around the waist. He also has tights and little shoes curved at the tips, sort of like those elfin shoes you like so much.
I'm not even kidding, that is seriously how I've imagined them all along.

Oh, yes, cousin. I don't know why I said brother.
I imagine Wart as a scrawny, lanky child with messy, medium length, light brown hair and green eyes - because the unlikely hero needs one defining aspect, at least. I agree with your outfit choice, but the tunic would be short sleeved, and green. Also, he would not wear those shoes, but a pair of plain, brown sandals or these: http://revival.us/ProductImages/four%20new%20shoes%20large.gif

Algebraic
Yeah! Those were the exact kind of shoes I was thinking of as well! Wow! Math!
And I had pictured the tunic as being a deep green, too! Great minds think alike!
What part are you at right now?

I sit back in my chair and nod approvingly, my face resembling that of the mighty wombat.
Yes, the shoes were a good find, exactly how I imagined them.
As we discussed over the phone, the plot as really impoved - probably because Kay is gone now - and I've met the most interesting characters of King Pellinore and Merlyn. Oh, and let's not forget Archie. I'm really starting to enjoy the book a lot more now, but it would help if the text wasn't so small in this darned copy. I'm now at about page 29 or 39, I think. They are arriving back at Sir Ector's castle.
Also, a reference: The Mighty Wombat.

I FINISHED IT, HA HA!
I HAVE LET MYSELF OUT OF MY MISERY AND FINISHED THE DANG THING!!!
But it was really quite good, actually. I can say it was a favorite of mine, but it was a nice read.
